Our Programs

ASHA

Asha is a mental health outreach program which focuses on engagement and relationship building as a means of achieving clinical outcomes. The program places equal value on social inclusion, psychosocial and psychological outcomes.

Through a multidisciplinary team of Allied Health professional and Youth & Family workers, case management and therapeutic interventions are provided to young people whose current mental health concerns have resulted in a decline in function across life domains.

Asha is a targeted service for vulnerable young people (12-25 years) who are disengaged from community support and are identified as experiencing complex and severe mental ill health

Mobile outreach support is provided within the Moreton Bay North. Redcliffe and North Lakes sub regions.

Referral Process

ASHA has a closed referral process. Agencies and external professionals* who have a Memorandum of Understanding in place can refer young people to the program.

YAMBI

YAMBI (Youth Access Moreton Bay Initiative) is an early intervention & prevention service providing individual and family support, and case management to young people (10-25 years).

The program is aimed at young people who are

  • at risk of entering the youth justice system

  • experiencing mental ill-health and/or substance misuse

  • experiencing family issues

Target outcomes include, but are not limited to, employment, increased attendance at school or training, family reunification and increased service involvement and participation.

YAMBI is funded through the Department of Communities, Child Safety & Disability Services.

Referral Process

Young people and families can self-refer into YAMBI by contacting the Redcliffe Youth Space or they can be referred by external support services, local schools or the police service.

YAMBI Referral Form

YARN

YARN (Youth At Risk Network) is a ‘round table’ style meeting with key stakeholders where the young person and their parent/guardian are invited to sit together with a range of service providers to develop an action plan.

The meetings are held on the last Thursday of the month between 12:00PM - 5:00PM. Each young person is allocated a 1 hour session with the group of service providers.

Young people and families can self-refer into YAMBI by contacting the Redcliffe Youth Space or they can be referred by external support services, local schools or the police service.

YARN is funded through the Department of Communities, Child Safety & Disability Services.

Checkpoint

Checkpoint is a flexible learning program for high school aged young people (13-15 years, with those aged 12 assessed for suitability on a case by case basis). Checkpoint is designed for young people who have disengaged from mainstream education.

Checkpoint is project-based, hands on learning which aims to improve learning micro-skills, increase overall education outcomes, and provide a positive transition to either schooling, future training, and/or employment. 

Referral Process

Young people can be referred to the program by a parent/guardian, school staff member or external support agency, however they must be currently enrolled at Redcliffe State High School.

RRR

RRR (Remand Reduction Response) is an early intervention & prevention service providing diversionary activities and case management services to high risk young people (10-17 years) in the youth justice system or at risk of remand in custody.

The program is aimed at young people who:

  • are assessed as high or very high risk of future offending; and

  • have multiple and complex needs

Target outcomes include, but are not limited to, employment, increased attendance at school or training, family reunification and increased service involvement and participation.

RRR is funded through the Department of Communities, Child Safety & Disability Services.

Referral Process

Young people can be referred into RRR by the police service, Youth Justice or external support services.

Work Skills

Our Skilling Queenslanders for Work program is a 24 week Work Skills Traineeship for young people aged 15-25 years old, who are not enrolled in school, under-employed or are finding it difficult getting into the workforce.

Some of the things we work on during the program are:

Completing a Certificate I in Work Skills at TAFE QLD

Gaining hospitality experience in our coffee shop (Coffee by the Cliffe)

Gaining retail experience in our skate and scooter shop (Ride Supplies)

Gaining retail experience in our gaming store (Misfits United)

Gaining administration and event experience in small & large scale events

The training is funded and supported by the Queensland Government through its Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.
