Why do you want to work at Redcliffe Youth Space:
Because Redcliffe Youth Space genuinely cares about young people and the community around them. It has given me the privilege of meeting some of the most incredible young people and the honour of watching them grow and increase their social mobility.
If you had a super power what would it be:
If I was to choose one superpower it would be the ability to heal people or animals. Heal them physically, mentally or emotionally.
What is your most embarrasing teen story:
When I was getting an award at school during the parade, I fell up the stairs in front of the entire school. Worst part was I was wearing a skirt.

Why do you work at Redcliffe Youth Space:
I really, really believe in the approach that is used by The Youth Space.  The Space is truly a part of the community and seeks to offer support wherever we can with the resources at our disposal.  I love working alongside people who are equally committed to making that happen. I love that, I legitimately get to chat to whoever walks in and it is just as important as writing a report (or any other boring and tedious task).  It is a pretty special thing to be a part of - how lucky am I?!

If you had a Superpower what would it be:
I would love to be able to replicate or multiply myself... that way, I could be present everywhere I wanted to be and could do everything I wanted to do all at the one time.  I would then never need to miss out on anything or fear not getting everything done.

Most embarrassing teen story:
I was in grade 8 and our teacher made us take turns in reading from the textbook, out loud to the entire classroom.  I misread the word organism and instead said, orgasm.  I suspect the fact that I still remember that means it felt like a really big deal at the time.

Why do you want to work at Redcliffe Youth Space:
Young people are recognised as valued and valuable to our community. Yes it’s a cliche but it holds true that young people are our future, which is why they deserve equal opportunity to thrive and not just survive in life. I hope that you reading this would seek to understand that trauma, poverty and social stigma/judgment do not define youth and their families and will contribute and invest in our future! This is why I/we work here.

If you had a super power what would it be:
To materialise food from thought! Like in that scene with Peter Pan (Robin Williams) and the Lost Boys from Hook! Food to share and bring everyone together at the same table!

What is your most embarrasing teen story:
When I was younger I fell asleep at a party and woke the next day with hair removal cream on my chest in the shape of the letter A. To this day whenever I am submerged in water you can see this "A" insignia on my chest (as the hair grew back thicker), nowhere near as cool as #Captain America.

Ben

Why do you want to work at Redcliffe Youth Space:
To give back to the community after taking so much in my youth.

There is something fascinating about watching change occurring in the lives of others.  The team is willing to walk alongside people when they most need support, increasing the chances of positive outcomes for some of the more vulnerable members of society. I would rather work toward that future than complain about it

If you had a super power what would it be:
Manipulating matter so I could turn anything I imagine into reality. It would probably get very weird very quickly

What is your most embarrasing teen story:

Why do you work at Redcliffe Youth Space:
I love that RAYS is a place in the community where everyone is welcome. I am so lucky to be able to walk alongside young people and support them with their goals.

If you had a Superpower what would it be:
My superpower would be shapeshifting. That way I could fly like a bird, swim like a dolphin or run like a cheetah.

Most embarrassing teen story:
Probably fully committing to the dress up theme for a house party, only to rock up and no one else had dressed up at all.

Erica

Why do you work at Redcliffe Youth Space:
I love working at Redcliffe Youth Space because it has a great name in the community and is a real hub of activity, which means I get to have fun, interesting and random conversations with young people every day.

If you had a Superpower what would it be:
My superpower would be to have amazing luck, so I'd be able to get your Centrelink application approved STRAIGHT AWAY! Housing application APPROVED! Job application, SUCCESSFUL! All sorted with no waiting around.

Most embarrassing teen story:
When I was in high school I played hockey and my Dad used to come to my matches and yell, in his strongest South African accent, "Fight for the ball Erica!" but because of his accent it sounded like he was saying, "Fart for the ball Erica!" and he did this deliberately, just to embarrass me.

Why do you work at Redcliffe Youth Space:
I work at RAYS because it is an awesome space where all are welcome. I started off at RAYS as a placement student and now have been lucky enough to get a job here and work alongside the awesome youth on the peninsula.

If you had a Superpower what would it be:
A superpower where I could go back in time, be invisible and see how events unfold!

Most embarrassing teen story:
Probably shaving off one of my eyebrows and going to school with a bandaid on my (non existent) eyebrow for over 2 months…

Why do you work at Redcliffe Youth Space:
I like working at Redcliffe Youth Space because not only does it give me the flexibility to find creative ways to engage and help all sorts of different young people, but every single day feels like a new Choose-Your-Own-Adventure story so there's zero chance of ever getting bored.

If you had a Superpower what would it be:
I'd love to have the ability to walk in other people's dreams. Some of the wildest stories are told in your sleeping mind, and to be able to feel and experience that would be amazing... not a helpful superpower, but still fun!

Most embarrassing teen story:
When I was at a friend's house and we were all hanging out in the living room talking, I fell asleep on the floor, and it wasn't until later in the night when I was leaving that I was told that as I was asleep I very audibly farted.... I'm sure I can make this sound more embarrassing and funnier, but that's what I've got for now

If you had a Superpower what would it be:
If I could have any superpower it would be the ability to see the future and change it.

Most embarrassing teen story:
My most embarrassing teen story was experiencing stage-fright in a school play and forgetting my lines.

Why do you work at Redcliffe Youth Space:
It's a place filled with good humans - both the staff and young people. The work of the organisation is invaluable to the community in so many ways.

If you had a Superpower what would it be:
The ability to fly. I could go anywhere I wanted, and get to see places from a new perspective.

Most embarrassing teen story:
Basically face planting in front of a bunch of people back in high school.

Why do you work at Redcliffe Youth Space:
I enjoy being able to talk and build relationships with anyone that attends our service as well as being the Archbishop of Banterbury.  Redcliffe Youth Space teaches me something new nearly every day and I am happy to be able to work in such a unique environment.

If you had a Superpower what would it be:
My superpower would be teleportation so that I could go anywhere anytime, mostly to go on holidays over the weekend.

Luke

Why do you work at Redcliffe Youth Space?
It’s the best working environment that I have ever been in, everyone is super supportive and we all work with each other's strengths, helping each other out if we can.

If you had a Superpower what would it be?
Teleportation, transport can be bothersome and fuel prices are always increasing, so yeah cost effective, limitless travel, etc.

Most embarrassing teen story?
Sooooooooo.................... I was on a school trip and we went to a fast food place in the airport and like there was a lot of us, and me being the silly person I am, I volunteered to carry all the drinks on a single tray, things were going good for the first few steps, then things started to get wobbly. And like I also wasn't the most popular kid either, pretty much a recluse so I really didn't need anything bad like this to happen, but down came all the drinks, right onto the floor making a rather large mess, and of course being the melodramatic person I am I thought everybody would be so mad, but yeah, no one really cared, I mean it was inconvenient for people, but it all went well in the end any way.

Why do you work at Redcliffe Youth Space:
Redcliffe Youth Space is so important as it provides a safe place for young people to go should they need any help. The team here are all amazing humans who all go above and beyond to help any young person in need. And I get to support them in doing this.

If you had a Superpower what would it be:
To stop time or rewind time. That way I can go back and fix things or change the outcomes of certain events.

Most embarrassing teen story:
It must have been super embarrassing that I completely blocked it out of my brain.
